On Friday December 19, 2025, President Julius Maada Bio will officially commission the first completed homes at the TAF Salone Micro City estate, marking a key milestone in Sierra Leone’s push for affordable housing.
The handover culminates a five-year transformation of a once-chaotic lands sector.

In 2021, President Bio tasked Minister Dr. Turad Senesie with sanitizing the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning. Dr. Senesie prioritized affordable housing, restructured the ministry, and actively courted private investment.
Answering that call was Mustapha Njie, CEO of TAF Africa Global. The resulting public-private partnership has now delivered its first phase: dozens of affordable homes within the new, master-planned TAF Micro City at John Obey.

The event symbolizes a shift from policy to tangible progress, proving that reformed governance and strategic partnerships can lay a new foundation for Sierra Leonean communities.
