Orange SL’s New CEO Strengthens Ties with SLP

Kingtom, 10 February 2026 – The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Madam Aicha Toure, has paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr William Fayia Sellu, at his office at the Kingtom Senior Officers’ Mess, reaffirming the company’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Sierra Leone Police (SLP).

Madam Toure, who assumed office in January 2026, was accompanied by a delegation led by Orange SL’s General Secretary, Ms Danetta Young. Introducing the new CEO, Ms Young expressed pleasure and privilege in presenting her to the IGP, noting that Madam Toure brings extensive experience from various senior roles across Orange operations within the sub-region.

Speaking during the engagement, Madam Toure said the purpose of the visit was to reinforce the long-standing relationship between Orange SL and the SLP leadership, and to reaffirm the company’s continued support to national development efforts.

She underscored the strategic importance of Orange to Sierra Leone’s growth and expressed confidence in deepening cooperation with the Police, particularly in investigations involving the company. She assured the IGP of Orange’s readiness to maintain strong institutional collaboration and mutual support.

Welcoming the delegation, IGP Sellu highlighted the strong history of partnership between the SLP and Orange Mobile Networks, describing the relationship as productive and evolving. He acknowledged that occasional challenges are normal in institutional partnerships but stressed that the SLP remains fully committed to sustaining and improving cooperation.

The IGP emphasised that providing support to institutions such as Orange forms part of the core mandate of the Police. He also recalled a past Closed User Group (CUG) communication project for senior officers, which experienced challenges and was duly communicated to the company’s previous leadership, while noting his personal appreciation for the organisation.

IGP Sellu further stated that although the SLP has handled several investigations on behalf of Orange, some matters were later withdrawn for administrative resolution. He pledged continued openness and dedication to building a stronger partnership going forward.

As a sign of commitment to the collaboration, the Orange team announced a recent donation of computers and other technological gadgets to the SLP Cyber Unit to boost operational efficiency, with assurances of sustained future support.

The IGP assured the new CEO that his office remains open to continuous engagement and cooperation.
